The Giants took Game 1 of the World Series behind Hunter Pence’s bat and Madison Bumgarner’s arm, and they’ll try to go up 2-0 Wednesday with Jake Peavy on the mound. The Royals couldn’t take a series lead with James Shields, so in Game 2 they’ll turn to Yordano Ventura in their search for their first World Series victory since 1985.
Royals, Giants set World Series Game 2 lineups
The Royals are down 0-1 in the series, and will send the same lineup out for Game 2.

Michael Morse is still the designated hitter for the Giants -- and will be so long as they have the option in an American League park -- and Travis Ishikawa will take his spot in left field. The Royals basically have one lineup, regardless of pitcher handedness, so you might even know it by heart by now:
World Series Game 2 lineup: Blanco CF, Panik 2B, Posey C, Sandoval 3B, Pence RF, Belt 1B, Morse DH, Ishikawa LF, Crawford SS, Peavy RHP
— Alex Pavlovic (@AlexPavlovic) October 22, 2014 Peavy had never been to the World Series prior to 2013, but now he’s in his second consecutive one. He’s maybe at the point in his career where pitching in a tough AL park would be a problem, but Kauffman is pitcher-friendly, and the Royals had the worst offense in the American League. It’s Peavy’s chance to shine on the playoff stage and help erase his big game struggles of the past:
Under The Pressure Lineup: Escobar 6, Aoki 9, Cain 8, Hosmer 3, Butler DH, Gordon 7, Perez 2, Infante 4, Moustakas 5, Ventura 1. #royals
