The Philadelphia Phillies re-signed outfielder Grady Sizemore to a one-year, $2 million contract, the team announced on Thursday. Sizemore can earn up to $5 million with performance bonuses that are part of the deal's terms, per SB Nation's Chris Cotillo.
Phillies sign Grady Sizemore for $2 million
The Phillies just got a little bit older.

Sizemore, who joined the Phillies on a minor league contract on June 24, posted near league-average production in 176 plate appearances for the team in 2014. The 32-year-old veteran began the season with the Boston Red Sox and hit .216/.288/.324 -- good for an OPS+ of just 72 -- before being released on June 18.
From his rookie season in 2004 through 2011, Sizemore posted a 120+ OPS and was named to three American League All-Star teams while with the Cleveland Indians. He missed the 2012 and 2013 seasons while dealing with back and knee injuries.
The Phillies on Thursday also avoided arbitration with left-handed reliever Cesar Jimenez, who posted a 1.69 ERA in 16 innings.
