The San Francisco Giants have grabbed the lead over the Kansas City Royals in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Pablo Sandoval. With two outs and the bases loaded, Sandoval lined a pitch from Royals reliever Brandon Finnegan back up the middle, scoring two runs in the process.
Giants grab lead in sixth inning on Pablo Sandoval’s base hit
The Giants have re-taken the lead on a clutch RBI hit by Pablo Sandoval with two outs.

Joaquin Arias and Gregor Blanco led off the inning with back-to-back singles before coming around to score on Sandoval's hit. Royals catcher Salvador Perez nearly snuffed out San Francisco's momentum when he almost picked off Arias at second base:
Replay confirmed the initial call that Arias was safe, and after Buster Posey was intentionally walked, Pablo Sandoval came through with his single up the middle. Brandon Belt added another run with a base hit into center field, and the Giants took a three-run lead.
The Royals bullpen has now given up four runs since Jason Vargas left the game in the fifth inning.
