Giants vs. Nationals live stream: Start time, TV schedule and starting pitchers for 2014 NLDS Game 2

Jordan Zimmermann isn’t worrying about much as he prepares for Saturday’s NLDS Game 2 against Tim Hudson and the San Francisco Giants in Nationals Park.

After letting a solid start from Stephen Strasburg go to waste, the Nationals are hoping to live up to their NL-best record with No. 2 starter Jordan Zimmermann. A win for the Nationals would tie their NLDS series, 1-1, against the San Francisco Giants and veteran hurler Tim Hudson.

Adding fuel to the NL East champs’ fire will likely be comments made by Hudson that were interpreted by some to be a knock against their will to win. Hudson, not surprisingly, denies this interpretation of his statements, telling reporters explicitly, “I was absolutely not questioning their heart or their intestinal fortitude.” Instead, Hudson claims he was simply referring to his teammates’ own brand of toughness, “I was speaking on our behalf, on our team. I feel like we have a team that can go out there, grind things out. I feel like we play tough baseball. We have guys who are tough as nails in the locker room.”

Zimmermann would probably have more on his mind than comments made by his opponent, like his recent no-hitter, if he wasn't the type of pitcher who seemingly lives entirely in the moment. He claims last week's no-no hasn't changed his approach at all.

“Come to the ballpark every day, prepare for the playoffs, here,” Zimmermann said. “You know, my phone has been blowing up every day, but I guess that comes with throwing a no‑hitter.”

In fact, he doesn’t seem like he worries about much of anything, even pitching second despite being the team’s best pitcher this season statistically.

“Following Stras, as long as I am pitching, I don’t care where or when, as long as I am pitching, I am fine with that,” Zimmermann said.

He’ll likely hope that his unwavering enthusiasm and confidence will continue into Saturday’s game, as his team tries desperately to avoid a 2-0 hole before it heads to San Francisco for Game 3.
