Nationals, Giants set lineups for NLDS Game 3
This could be the final game of the season for the Nats, and the third sweep of the Division Series.

The San Francisco Giants are up two games to none in their National League Division Series with the Washington Nationals, and they are just now in San Francisco for their first home game of the round. On the mound for the Giants in Game 3 will be Madison Bumgarner, the San Fran ace who already dispatched the Pittsburgh Pirates with a complete-game shutout in the Wild Card game, and at just 25, already has an impressive postseason resume attached to his name. The Nationals will attempt to stay alive behind the arm of Doug Fister, who was the team's top starter when on the mound in 2014.
As for whom Fister will be facing on Monday in this win-or-go-home affair:
Today's #SFGiants lineup: Blanco cf Panik 2b Posey c Sandoval 3b Pence rf Belt 1b Crawford ss Ishikawa lf Bumgarner p
— #OctoberTogether (@SFGiants) October 6, 2014 Bumgarner will take on a Nats' squad that has sat Ryan Zimmerman in order to keep its outfield of Bryce Harper, Denard Span and Jayson Werth in place. This lineup is also wearing capes, if you believe the Nationals' Twitter:
#Nats #NLDS G3 lineup: Span CF, Rendon 3B, Werth RF, LaRoche 1B, Desmond SS, Harper LF, Ramos C, Cabrera 2B, Fister P pic.twitter.com/M5LwktBC0H
— Washington Nationals (@Nationals) October 6, 2014 It's a little odd to keep Zimmerman, a righty, out of the lineup against the southpaw Bumgarner, but Nationals' manager Matt Williams chose defense with Span over the extra bat. Given Fister's grounder tendencies, that maybe wasn't the right call.
