Toronto Blue Jays outfield prospect Dalton Pompey and New York Yankees first base prospect Greg Bird led a second-inning rally in the East All-Stars' 6-2 win over the West in the 2014 Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game on Saturday night at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale.

Bird opened the scoring with a solo home run to center field to lead-off the second inning. Pompey followed later in the frame with a line drive to right field for a triple, scoring two as part of a four-run frame against Cincinnati Reds pitcher Nick Howard.
Bird won game MVP honors for his efforts, which also included a walk in the third inning.
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo and Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Roman Quinn each added two hits for the East.

Bird soars
There were several top-100 prospects in baseball on display in the Fall Stars Game on Saturday night, but there were plenty of other prospects below that level who are still quite valuable to their teams. Bird, for instance, isn’t a top-100 prospect, though he was rated the fourth-best prospect in the Yankees system by Baseball America in its 2015 prospect list released this week.
Bird, who led all of the minors with 107 walks in 2013, hit .271/.376/.472 with 14 home runs between Class-A and Double-A in 2014. But anyone who can hit a ball this far is definitely worth a second look:
Don’t forget about Bradley
Archie Bradley of the Diamondbacks began 2014 in Triple-A but was sidelined for two months with a mild right elbow strain. Between Double-A Mobile and Triple-A Reno in 2014, Bradley was 3-7 with a 4.45 ERA in 18 starts, with 75 strikeouts and 49 walks in 83 innings.
But Bradley is still ranked as the No. 9 overall prospect in baseball per MLB.com, and showed a few reasons why on Saturday. He started for the East and pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one in his two frames.
Big game Renfroe
San Diego Padres outfield prospect Hunter Renfroe, a first-round draft pick in 2013, slammed a home run to left center field in the sixth inning for the West.

But it was who he hit the home run against that was noteworthy. Trevor Gott was also drafted by the Padres in 2013, in the sixth round out of Kentucky, and was teammates with his former SEC foe Renfroe (a Mississippi State product) at four different minor league stops in a little over a year before Gott was traded along with Padres closer Huston Street to the Angels in July in a six-player deal.
Renfroe got the best of his ex-teammate, but it was in defeat for the West.
