Former Giants and Athletics pitcher Barry Zito wants to attempt a comeback in 2015, his agent, Scott Boras, recently told ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.
Barry Zito wants to attempt comeback
Zito hasn’t pitched since 2013, which was his worst full season in the big leagues.

Zito didn’t pitch last season after playing out a seven-year, $126 million contract with a 2014 option that was bought out for $7 million. In 2013, Zito posted a 5.74 ERA in 133⅓ innings.
Before signing the big free-agent deal with the Giants, Zito won 102 games and posted a 3.55 ERA in seven seasons for Oakland teams that were in contention more often than not. During that time, the USC alum was above average in terms of ERA+ in every season. After arriving in San Francisco prior to the 2007 campaign, Zito posted an above-average ERA+ just once.
Despite his regular-season struggles, Zito ended his time with the Giants on a good note thanks to his strong performance in the 2012 postseason. The now-36-year-old left-hander allowed only three earned runs in 16 innings spanning three outings for the eventual World Series champions.
