Gold Glove awards 2014 announcement show: Time, TV schedule and live stream

The 2014 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards will be announced Tuesday night on ESPN2.

The 2014 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards will be announced Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET as Major League Baseball’s awards season kicks off.

The league announced three finalists for each position in the AL and NL back in October, and now MLB will announce the winners at each position.

After a stellar defense led them to the postseason (and ultimately the World Series), four Royals players —catcher Salvador Perez , first baseman Eric Hosmer, shortstop Alcides Escobar and left fielder Alex Gordon— were named among the three finalists for their respective positions. Hosmer and Perez both won their first Gold Glove Awards in 2013, while Gordon has won the award in three straight seasons. Dustin Pedroia (second base), J.J. Hardy (shortstop) and Adam Jones (Orioles) are also defending Gold Glove winners.

Over in the NL, the Dodgers led all other clubs with four finalists of their own in first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, third baseman Juan Uribe, and pitchers Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw. Gonzalez is a three-time winner at first base, and Kershaw has won the Gold Glove Award once in his career.

Yadier Molina (catcher), Brandon Phillips (second base), Andrelton Simmons (shortstop), Nolan Arenado (third base), Gerardo Parra (right field) and Adam Wainwright all won Gold Gloves in 2013 and have also been nominated as finalists this year.

Molina is the current active leader in Gold Glove Awards with six, a mark that ranks fourth all-time among catchers in major league history.
