Listen, we know it’s tough to catch up on everything happening in the baseball world each morning. It’s okay, though, we’re going to do the heavy lifting for you each morning, and find the things you need to see from within the SB Nation baseball network as well as from elsewhere. Please hold your applause until the end.
Say hey, baseball: Josh Donaldson moves to Canada
Your morning baseball includes Josh Donaldson heading to the Blue Jays, the faceless A’s, and the next few months of Max Scherzer’s life.

The A’s traded Josh Donaldson on Friday night -- just a few months after dealing Yoenis Cespedes -- reminding fans that they’re a franchise without a face. Well, one besides general manager Billy Beane, anyway.
It’s a big story for Oakland, but moving Donaldson also means life is easier for the division-rival Mariners. They don’t get this kind of good news very often, you know.
Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos also discussed the deal with MLB.com ...
... as did Beane.
- Bryce Harper and the Nationals are headed towards a contract grievance, because getting into an unnecessary and heated debate about contract rights with your cornerstone building block is a proven and effective team-building strategy.
- Throwing all that money at Russell Martin makes a whole lot more sense with Donaldson now on the Blue Jays, and they still have some room to make moves.
- Someone must want all of that Giants’ money, yeah? Maybe Yoan Lopez. Or Yoan Moncada. Possibly someone else named Yoan if San Francisco can discover them in time.
- The A’s clearly have Jeff Samardzija on the trade block now, but teams that aren’t interested can always call the Mets about one of three starters.
- First baseball fans watched Survivor for the John Rocker ridiculousness, and now they can watch it to see the worst baseball swing form ever.
- Yasmany Tomas is a mystery, but old SB Nation friend Jeff Sullivan took what we think we know to build some realistic expectations for the newest Diamondbacks’ investment.
- Trading Yoenis Cespedes makes sense for the Red Sox, but what teams does he make sense for?
- Hey, remember when the Yankees weren’t going to spend big on Max Scherzer or anyone like him? Now they’ve reportedly offered him a contract. Someday we’ll all learn it’s never what they say, and only what they do that matters.
- Speaking of Scherzer, former Mets executive Jim Duquette doesn’t expect him -- as well as a few other major free agents -- to sign until 2015.
- One of those is Francisco Liriano, who has been a new man the last two years. Well, maybe.
- Are you a Braves fan preemptively upset about Atlanta trading Justin Upton? Maybe you don’t have to be!
- Let’s wrap up with some adorable Hank the Brewers Dog action that you might have missed in your haste to stuff yourself with turkey.
