Miguel Sano might start crushing homers in Minnesota someday soon, but Twins fans might have to wait a little longer than they'd like to if the third baseman's elbow issues are serious enough to keep him off of the field.
Miguel Sano injury: 3B ‘felt something’ in his elbow while throwing
The Twins are waiting for a diagnosis on one of their top prospects.

According to MLB.com’s Rhett Bollinger, Sano “felt something” in his elbow while he was throwing throwing across his body yesterday.
In November, the 20-year-old “mega-prospect” had to cut his winter program short after straining the ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow.
He flew to Minneapolis/St. Paul to be examined by team physicians shortly after the injury, and sought a second opinion from specialist Dr. James Andrews. He rested for five weeks after those consultations and resumed his training for the season, but if the injury is considered to be serious enough, the Twins could shut him down for a significant period to make sure the issue doesn’t become a long-term concern.
Sano is considered one of the best players in the minors, and is often mentioned as the best power-hitting prospect in baseball. In Sano, future superstar Byron Buxton and others, Minnesota has one of the most enviable farm systems in the game, so they will likely handle Sano's development with as much caution as possible. The team isn't currently projected to be a legitimate playoff contender, but if their farm system can graduate some solid contributors to go along with its big names, they could soon find themselves back in the hunt for AL Central pennants.
