Brandon Crawford doubles thanks to seagulls
It was a routine fly ball until the seagulls showed up.


Campana confused a seagull for a baseball against San Francisco’s night sky, netting Crawford a double. Campana was so fooled he even began to sprint towards the wall before realizing he was 15 feet from where he needed to be:
This was a missed opportunity for shaking his fist at nature for our enjoyment, but at least there’s an accusing glance:
Then again, Diamondbacks’ outfielders have already dealt with a game-delaying swarm of bees, and now gulls are interfering with fly balls, so maybe tempting fate isn’t the best idea.
