Ervin Santana will face Clay Buchholz in Atlanta. Santana has adapted well to the National League. In 52⅔ innings as a Brave, Santana has gone 4-2 with a 3.42 ERA, but over his last two starts he's allowed 11 runs in 12 innings, walking five and striking out just five.
Michael Wacha will square off against rookie right-hander Chase Whitley in St. Louis. If you haven't had a chance to watch Wacha pitch yet this season, make the effort for this one. He's put up a 2.54 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP with 66 strikeouts in 60⅓ innings. He's backing up the hype from 2013 and functioning as a 1B ace for the Cards alongside Adam Wainwright. Whitley, 24, has started two games for New York this year, allowing just one earned run in nine innings.
If you're planning to grill and you don't want to either carry your TV outside or wheel your Weber inside, you can listen to the Tigers and A's game on ESPN Radio. In a rematch of last year's American League Division Series, left-handers Drew Smyly and Tommy Milone will start for Detroit and Oakland, respectively.
