Mark Buehrle continued his unheralded run of dominance on Wednesday, spinning seven innings of three-hit baseball, striking out six and walking two in the Blue Jays' victory over Philadelphia. It was his sixth win of the year, making him the first pitcher to reach that figure. He narrowly edged Adam Wainwright, who notched his sixth win about 23 minutes later. Wainwright threw a gem of his own, scattering six hits over eight strong innings, recording six strikeouts and only one walk against Atlanta.

Toronto southpaw Mark Buehrle and St. Louis right-hander Adam Wainwright each continued their early season dominance with wins on Wednesday night.

The seven shutout innings brought Buehrle's ERA below two, resting at 1.91. Wainwright came oh-so-close to joining him; his ERA is now sitting at 2.02 after Wednesday The Cardinals' ace has been his usual dominant self this year, with 58 innings and 54 strikeouts against only 40 hits. Buehrle is more of a surprise, but he's thrown 46 innings himself, allowing 43 hits, and striking out 29 batters. He's a major reason that the Blue Jays are the only team in the AL East with a positive run differential.

Prospect Bryant with a monster night
Kris Bryant was the second overall pick in the 2013 draft and has already reached Double-A. That would be achievement enough for most players, but the aggressive assignment hasn't phased him one bit, as he carried a .297/.414/.532 slash line into tonight's game.

It doesn't seem likely that the Cubs will push Bryant up to the majors this year, but he doesn't seem content to let that be an easy decision for them.
