In a game loaded with future MLB stars, Joey Gallo stood out above the rest. Gallo's two-run home run in the sixth inning gave the U.S. team a 3-2 lead in the Futures Game. That ultimately proved to be the final runs scored with the U.S. coming away with the win. The Texas Rangers prospect turned heads, beginning in batting practice when he hit a ball out of the stadium and broke a car windshield.

The best prospects in baseball were on display on Sunday with the American prospects edging out the World 3-2.

Gallo's power has never been questioned, but it was put on the national stage on Sunday. The 20-year-old didn't get cheated during the game, launching a ball some 420 feet off Astros prospect Michael Feliz in the sixth inning. The third baseman is currently in Double-A, but gave Rangers fans and the rest of MLB a glimpse of what could be the future at third base in Texas.
The U.S. team got the scoring started in the third inning when Kevin Plawecki got a run home on a force out. Chicago Cubs prospect Javier Baez put the World team up 2-1 in the top of the sixth inning when he hit a two-run home run off Nationals prospect Lucas Giolito. Gallo answered with a two-run homer of his own in the bottom of the inning to cap the scoring.
The pitchers had the upper hand for most of the game with a number of top arms getting into the mix. Marlins prospect Domingo German was impressive in his one inning of work, striking out a pair. Detroit prospect Jake Thompson picked up the win for the U.S. team. He faced only two batters, but struck out both. Rosell Herrera of the Rockies and Dalton Pompey of Toronto both collected two hits for the World team.
