Five innings after getting hit by a pitch, Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig had to leave when the pain in his left hand from an errant Joe Kelly offering left him unable to continue.
Yasiel Puig leaves game with bruised hand, Matt Holliday shaken up
Two of the league’s best players exit the game early in St. Louis and Jackie Bradley Jr shows off a remarkable skill.

X-rays taken by the team came back negative, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney, so it appears that there will not be any need to put Puig on the disabled list. However, it’s unclear whether he may take a game or two off until the soreness subsides.
He was replaced Matt Kemp, who proceeded to strike out after an eight-pitch at-bat, continuing a 2-for-18 slump.
Holliday hits head, leaves game
In the same game, Matt Holliday exited early, four innings after appearing to hit his head on Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez's glove sliding back into second base in the first inning.
Holliday was shaken up badly, staying on the ground for over a minute. Although he was cleared of a concussion by team doctors, he was taken out as a precaution according to the Cardinals.
And like Puig, it remains unclear whether or not he will play in the series finale between the Dodgers and Cardinals on Sunday.
