Yoenis Cespedes takes revenge after Jonathan Broxton chin music

Red Sox slugger Yoenis Cespedes, after a pitch up and in under his chin, hit a two-run home run to give the Red Sox a 3-2 win over Jonathan Broxton of the Reds on Tuesday night in Cincinnati.

Yoenis Cespedes got the best of Jonathan Broxton on Tuesday night, hitting a go-ahead, two-run home run to lift the Red Sox over the Reds 3-2 at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

With two outs and Brock Holt on second base with a 2-1 lead in the eighth inning, Broxton buzzed the Red Sox cleanup hitter up and in with his first pitch. The next pitch was right over the plate, and Cespedes didn't miss it, crushing a ball to center field for what ended up being the game-winner.

“You throw one under my chin, I’ll hit the next one over the center field fence,” Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy said on the NESN television broadcast.

After the game, Cespedes said he wasn’t rattled by the chin music.

It was the second home run in nine games for Cespedes since getting traded to the Red Sox. The outfielder is hitting .256/.301/.467 with 19 home runs on the season.
