MLB standings 2014: Angels finish season with baseball’s best record
The 2014 MLB regular season came to an end Sunday. Here are the final standings for this year.

The 2014 Major League Baseball regular season concluded Sunday with a busy slate of games across the country. The field for the postseason is set and for 20 other teams, it’s time to start thinking about the offseason and what things will look like in 2015.
The Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals clinched their respective division titles on the final day of the season, outlasting the Kansas City Royals and Pittsburgh Pirates, who settle for Wild Card appearances. Kansas City hosts the Oakland A's in the one-game playoff, while Pittsburgh gets to face Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco Giants.
The Washington Nationals clinched their division a while ago, but still made news Sunday with a no-hitter from Jordan Zimmermann. It’s the first no-no since the franchise’s move to D.C., and it came in a sparkling performance against the Miami Marlins. Henderson Alvarez, who pitched a no-hitter on the final day of the 2013 season, was on the mound for Miami.
The Los Angeles Angels finish the season with a 98-64 record, the best in baseball. No team reached a triple-digit win total this season, though L.A. came awfully close. Washington and Baltimore also finished with 96 wins apiece, while the Dodgers were the only other team to top 90 wins.
