Dodgers vs. Mets 2015 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch NLDS Game 4 online

The Dodgers will turn to Clayton Kershaw as they try to avoid elimination.

Thanks to a 13-run offensive explosion in Game 3, the New York Mets are one win away from closing out the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Division Series. New York will now have a chance to win the series at home on Tuesday when they host the Dodgers for Game 4.

Facing elimination, Los Angeles will give the ball to its ace, Clayton Kershaw. While that would seemingly give the Dodgers a major advantage, that hasn’t been the case recently in the postseason. Kershaw has lost his last five postseason starts and is just 1-6 with a 4.91 ERA in nine career postseason starts (4.99 in 12 outings).

That record includes Game 1 of this series, when Kershaw allowed three runs over 6 2/3 innings and took the loss. Kershaw was hardly the problem in that game, however, as the Dodgers’ bats struggled to muster any offense.

While the Dodgers will give the ball to a three-time Cy Young winner, the Mets will start rookie Steven Matz. The 24-year-old will make his postseason debut after tossing 35 2/3 innings during the regular season. He will also make his first appearance following an extended layoff due to back spasms.

Matz hasn’t pitched in a MLB game since Sept. 24. Although the spotlight will be bigger than what he has encountered, Matz was excellent during the regular season. He posted a 2.27 ERA during six starts, including six shutout innings against the Dodgers. Matz allowed only two hits and struck out eight against Los Angeles in July.

With a win, the Mets would advance to the National League Championship Series for the first time since 2006. If Los Angeles manages a win on the road, it would force a deciding Game 5, which would be played in Los Angeles on Thursday. TBS will provide television coverage for Game 4 with first pitch scheduled for 8:07 p.m. ET.
