Astros vs. Royals 2015 live stream: How to watch ALDS Game 5 online

The Royals were down and out, but now they have a chance to advance to the ALCS.

If the pattern of the series is any indication, the Houston Astros could be celebrating on Wednesday. Houston will face the Kansas City Royals in the deciding Game 5 of their American League Division Series. The Royals are coming off a stunning comeback win in Game 4 and are playing at home, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the Astros are in dire straits.

Houston has already won a game in Kansas City and the pattern of the series would put them in position to win another. The teams have traded wins throughout. Houston won Games 1 and 3 while Kansas City took Games 2 and 4. If the trend continues it will be Houston moving on, but the Royals will have plenty to say about that.

In fact, the numbers would seemingly give Kansas City a considerable advantage at home. The Royals posted a 51-30 record at home during the regular season. Their bats were considerably more productive than when on the road and the pitching staff also fared better at home. Royals pitchers allowed just a .699 OPS when pitching at Kauffman Stadium. The Astros, meanwhile, struggled on the road this season. They went 33-48 in road games with the offensive production dipping 60 OPS points. The pitching staff ERA jumped from 3.22 at home to 3.95 on the road. While Houston won four of six games against the Royals during the regular season, the Astros were 1-2 in Kansas City, including a pair of losses where they scored just one run apiece.

Johnny Cueto will start Game 5 for Kansas City while Collin McHugh will take the mound for the Astros. McHugh picked up the win in Game 1 with six strong innings, despite a rain delay. The Royals won Game 2, but Cueto did not factor in the decision as he allowed four runs over six innings.

Fox Sports 1 will provide the television coverage and subscribers will also be able to watch the game online thanks to a live stream from Fox Sports Go.
