The Chicago Cubs and New York Mets will meet in the National League Championship Series after clinching their NLDS series against the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers, respectively. The Cubs' win was historic -- until now, they had never clinched a playoff series at Wrigley Field.
Cubs vs. Mets 2015 NLCS schedule, game times and more
The Cubs and Mets will start the NLCS on Saturday in New York.
The NLCS will begin on Saturday at Citi Field in New York.
The Cubs won on the strength of their bats on Tuesday. They hit three home runs in a 6-4 win in Game 4 of the NLDS. The third, and biggest, came when Kyle Schwarber hit a dinger over the scoreboard. It was called a 418-footer, but only because it got stuck on top of the edifice. The Internet responded accordingly.
The Mets took a different route to beating the Dodgers on Thursday, having to outlast Zack Greinke on the road in Game 5 at Dodger Stadium. But thanks to a home run by Daniel Murphy, his third of the series, New York advanced to the NLCS for the first time since 2006.
TBS will televise the NLCS, with same crew calling the games that called the Dodgers-Mets NLDS. Ernie Johnson will be on play-by-play, with analysts Ron Darling and Cal Ripken, Jr., and Matt Winer joining Sam Ryan as the dugout reporting crew.
Games 1 and 2 are scheduled for 8:07 p.m. ET, with other game times in the series to be determined.
