The Toronto Blue Jays try to pull even with the Kansas City Royals in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series on Saturday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, and will turn to David Price to do so.

Kansas City leads the best-of-seven series, 1-0.

Price was arguably the top pitching acquisition at the non-waiver trading deadline in baseball, and was dominant down the stretch for the hard-charging Blue Jays, going 9-1 with a 2.30 ERA in 11 starts. But his American League Division Series was bizarre.
The Texas Rangers tagged Price for five runs in seven innings, hanging him with a loss in Game 1, then four days later Price pitched in relief in Game 4, entering with a six-run lead. Price allowed three runs in his three innings in relief in that appearance, but got the win. He will pitch Saturday with four days rest after his 50-pitch outing.
“I don’t think I’m out of routine. I’ve still got my work in, whether it was in the bullpen. I threw a lot of bullpen yesterday. It doesn’t change,” Price told reporters on Friday. “Like I said before, the dimensions that I’m throwing are still 60 feet 6 inches. That stuff doesn’t change.”
The Royals won in Game 1 on Friday night behind six scoreless innings by Edinson Volquez and a pair of doubles by shortstop Alcides Escobar, who drove in one run and scored another.
Kansas City in Game 2 will turn to Yordano Ventura, who allowed six runs and 15 runners to reach base in seven innings in the ALDS against the Houston Astros, but also struck out 10.
FOX Sports 1 will televise Game 2 starting with a pregame show at 3:30 p.m. ET. Game coverage begins at 4 p.m. with Joe Buck on play-by-play, alongside analysts Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci and reporters Ken Rosenthal and Erin Andrews.
The game will be available online via the FOX Sports Go app, with authentication required via a television provider.
