Kansas City leads the best-of-seven series, 2-0.

The Toronto Blue Jays return home, where they will try to fight their way back into the American League Championship Series against the Kansas City Royals, beginning with Game 3 on Monday night at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
The Royals won the first two games of the series at home, and stand two victories away from a return trip to the World Series, trying to become the first team to play in back-to-back World Series since the Texas Rangers from 2010-2011.
The Blue Jays were down 2-0 in their American League Division Series against the Rangers, but stormed back to win the final three games of the series, including erasing a one-run deficit in the seventh inning of Game 5. So they are used to playing with their backs against the wall.
Marcus Stroman gets the call for Toronto in Game 3, with a remarkable comeback story of his own. Deemed out for the year with a torn ACL in March during spring training, Stroman fought back for a September return, then went 4-0 with a 1.67 ERA in four starts down the stretch.
The right-hander has a 3.46 ERA in two playoff starts so far this year, both no-decisions, with nine strikeouts and three walks in 13 innings.
“I feel this team is a great team to face adversity because of the camaraderie and the confidence in every single guy in the clubhouse. We don’t get down. We might get down in the series, but you could never tell if you walked in our clubhouse,” Stroman told reporters on Sunday. ‘We keep an upbeat, very positive nature, and we know we’re capable of getting the job done.”
The Royals will counter in Game 3 with Johnny Cueto, who pitched the Royals over the Astros in Game 5 of their ALDS with eight strong innings, striking out eight and walking none. Cueto allowed a two-run home run in the second inning, but retired the final 19 batters he faced.
Toronto was 53-28 at home this season, 1-2 at home so far in the postseason. The Royals were 44-37 on the road, 1-1 so far in the playoffs.
FOX Sports 1 will televise Game 3 starting with a pregame show at 7 p.m. ET, with Alex Rodriguez joining the FOX studio crew through the World Series.
Game coverage begins at 4 p.m. with Joe Buck on play-by-play, alongside analysts Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci and reporters Ken Rosenthal and Erin Andrews. The game will be available online via the FOX Sports Go app, with authentication required via a television provider.
