Royals World Series parade 2015: Start time, TV schedule, route and more

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

For the first time in 30 years, the Kansas City Royals are World Series Champions. The Royals clinched the World Series in New York, but will now get to celebrate with their fans during the World Series parade through Kansas City on Tuesday.

The team will take an extended tour through the city, covering a 2.3-mile parade route. The party won’t end there, however, with a celebration rally planned after the parade. The entire affair is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET in Kansas City and will likely last at least three hours. The celebration rally is tentatively scheduled to start at 3 p.m., depending on the pace of the parade.

The parade will begin in the Power & Light District where many Royals fans gathered to celebrate the Game 5 win. It will initially head north on Grand Boulevard before turning on to Ninth Street then coming back south on Oak Street. The parade will move to Truman Road then back on Grand Boulevard going south. The route then turns on Pershing Road before finally finishing at Union Station for the celebration rally.

For those watching the festivities in person, the city of Kansas City will offer free bus service and free park and ride shuttles to help alleviate traffic. Free bus service will be available on all local, express and shuttle service that connect to downtown from 10 a.m. ET until two hours after the celebration rally ends.

Those not watching in person will also have multiple options to follow the action. In Kansas City, both FOX 4 and FOX Sports Kansas City will televise the parade and celebration after. FOX 4 will also provide online coverage, including a live stream at fox4kc.com. Nationally, MLB Network will also provide television coverage.
