We’ve seen this movie once before, and it didn’t end well for Miami. Last Friday, the Gators blasted the Canes, 15-3, in their Omaha opener. But after a Monday that saw Miami walk off in a survival game and Florida lose for the first time in 11 tries, momentum is on The U’s side heading into Wednesday’s elimination showdown.
College World Series 2015: Times, TV schedule and live stream for Florida vs. Miami
The Canes are hoping to put last weekend’s ugly loss to the Gators behind them in Wednesday’s lone game.

Technically, this is actually the fifth time we’ve seen this movie in 2015 -- Florida took two of three in a regular season series back in February. That weekend saw Enrique Sosa, who will start on the mound for the Canes on Wednesday, give up seven hits and two runs in a tough-luck loss in the rubber match. Alex Faedo, who’s starting for the Gators, worked a relief outing in the February series, giving up two hits.
Florida’s offense will be looking to get back on track after getting blanked by Virginia, just the third time the team’s been shut out since February. Before that loss to the Cavs, the Gators’ offense blasted its way through the NCAA Tourney, averaging 13 hits and 11 runs per game.
This is the first day of the College World Series that we don’t have multiple games, giving the Gators and Canes a stage to themselves. The winner will face Virginia on Friday and will need to beat the Wahoos twice in a row to advance to the finals.
