First off, a quick introduction, though if you don’t know what FanDuel is, well, you’re missing out. FanDuel is a site that offers daily fantasy sports games. Participants are given a chance every day to select new players, fill out a lineup and, most importantly, win some cash. If you choose poorly Monday you can come back Tuesday and try again. Easy as that. Click here to enter a $5 FanDuel contest that offers a $10,000 prize today!

As for what we're going to be doing in this space: The goal here will be to direct your attention toward some players who you might not otherwise consider. If you're here and reading this, then you already know that Mike Trout is really good. But when filling out a roster you can't just pick out stars. You'll blow your cap that way and get stuck praying to the baseball gods that a guy like Wilmer Flores actually gets a few hits. No, if you want to win, you have to take advantage of certain matchups -- and in order to do that you have to know where to look. That's what we're here for. Below is the lineup I'll be using for Tuesday, June 2.

Pitcher

Noah Syndergaard, Mets ($8,300): There are tons of pitching options that you can go with on Tuesday -- Max Scherzer against the Blue Jays, Johnny Cueto against the Phillies -- but Syndergaard gives you the best bang for your buck. He's been unhittable since being called up (24.2 innings, 21 hits allowed, five earned runs, 22 strikeouts, just five walks) and he should enjoy pitching in Petco Park and facing the hapless Padres. Over the last 30 days, San Diego is third in the majors in strikeout rate and 22nd in runs scored. Those are not good numbers. Also, Syndergaard is really fun to root for. Dude's nickname is Thor!

Catcher

Kurt Suzuki, Twins ($2,220): The first of today's bargain plays based on matchups. Suzuki will face Red Sox hurler Clay Buchholz on Tuesday. He's done so 18 times before, and in those at-bats, Suzuki has collected nine hits. He's been mostly lifeless at the plate all season, but in FanDuel you need to take some gambles in order to fit in the stars. Betting on a .500 average against a pitcher is a good place to start.

First Base

Adrian Gonzalez, Dodgers ($4,300): For one, Gonzalez has a career .370/.455/.696 stat line off the Rockies' Tuesday night starter, Jorge De La Rosa. Those numbers have come in 46 career at-bats, so we're not talking tiny samples here. Yeah, this is a lefty-lefty matchup, but clearly that's irrelevant in this case. Also, this game will be at Coors Field, always a benefit.

Second Base

Kolten Wong, Cardinals ($3,300): If you've heard of Tyler Cravy, then you're a bigger baseball fan than most. Cravy, a right-hander, is a no-name Brewers prospect who will be making his major league debut Tuesday night. He had a 4.04 ERA in Triple-A, so we're not talking about the second coming of Matt Harvey. He's exactly the type of pitcher you expect the Cardinals to eat up. Wong this season is hitting .314/.372/.493 against right-handers. Also, Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy has had issues throwing this season. Don't be surprised if Wong swipes a couple of bases as well.

Third Base

Lonnie Chisenhall, Indians ($2,500): Another bargain based on a matchup, and one that you should be looking to take advantage of on Tuesday. Chisenhall and the Indians face Royals right-hander Jeremy Guthrie, who is allowing left-handed batters to hit .359/.436/.660 this season. He's also got an ERA of 6.70 on the year, so he's really not getting anyone out. Chisenhall has faced Guthrie 17 times before and has nine hits and one home run against him. The math says this is a great matchup. The price makes it even better.

Shortstop

Ruben Tejada, Mets ($2,600): Nothing fancy about this choice, just riding a ridiculously hot hitter. Tejada, who was recently handed the Mets' starting third baseman job as David Wright continues to rehab, has eight hits in his last 17 at-bats. He's also going up against Padres pitcher Ian Kennedy, owner of a ludicrous (not in a good way) 7.15 ERA.

Outfield

Mike Trout, Angels ($5,000): The player all that bargain shopping allows you to get. Not much explanation is needed here -- just know that Trout is riding a six-game hitting streak, meaning he's hotter than usual. He's also got four hits in nine career at-bats against Chris Archer, the Rays' starting pitcher Tuesday night, as well as three walks.

Joc Pederson, Dodgers ($4,000): Again, the Dodgers are playing at Coors Field, which always helps. He's also hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games. Don't worry about his matchup against a left-hander, either; Pederson has a .303/.395/.515 slash line off southpaws this season.

Michael Cuddyer ($2,600): Have we mentioned yet that Ian Kennedy is not very good these days?
