The National League vote for the 2015 MLB All-Star Game was updated for the second time, and somehow, no Royals players are leading at any position. Yeah, yeah, we know the Royals play in the American League, but is their leading NL positions in votes more or less outlandish than Omar Infante as the AL’s starting second baseman?
NL All-Star Game vote updated, Bryce Harper leading
Bryce Harper is leading the NL in basically everything, including All-Star votes.

In the Senior Circuit, the Cardinals are the closest to the Royals, but at least those players are all doing well. (Missouri sure does love voting for things online!) Kolten Wong trails Dee Gordon at second base, but Matt Carpenter, Jhonny Peralta, and Matt Holliday are all in line to start in Cincinnati. Yadier Molina trails Buster Posey behind the plate, but only by about 137,000 votes:

— MLB Communications (@MLB_PR) June 2, 2015 The overall vote getter is Bryce Harper, and for that, we would like to thank the NL voters. The 22-year-old Harper is batting .325/.469/.724, leading the NL in runs, homers, walks, on-base percentage, slugging, OPS, and OPS+, and lest we forget to mention it, he’s also a fine defensive player on top of all that. There is no other correct answer for who should be getting the most votes, because what Harper has done over the past month or so is more superhero origin story than it is baseball.
There are four more voting updates to go, and now that Giants’ have seen that their efforts haven’t been enough, maybe they’ll try harder to get Nori Aoki to Cincinnati for the July 14 All-Star Game. All the rest of you might want to put in some votes for Giancarlo Stanton, just to be on the safe side.
