Just seven games into his renaissance with Texas, Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton will be sidelined nearly a month with a Grade 2 strain of his left hamstring, per Anthony Andro of Fox Sports Southwest.
Josh Hamilton to miss 4 weeks with hamstring strain
Hamilton last played for the Rangers on Sunday.

Hamilton, acquired in a giveaway from the Angels on April 27, did well in his return to the Rangers, hitting .273/.385/.636 with two home runs, two doubles and five RBI in seven games. But he last started on Saturday, and only made one pinch-hit appearance since, with a two-run double in the ninth inning on Sunday.
"It’s irritating, a little frustrating, but I mean I can’t do anything besides treat it, see where it goes day to day," Hamilton told reporters before the Rangers' game Wednesday against the Chicago White Sox, per Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News.
This isn’t the first trip to the disabled list this season for Hamilton, who began the year on the DL with the Angels after surgery in February to repair the AC joint in his right shoulder.
Hamilton averaged 122 games played per season from 2009-2014, and played in just 89 games for the Angels in 2014.
The Rangers (27-26) lost, 9-2, to Chicago on Wednesday, snapping a four-game winning streak. Texas won 11 of 13 games heading into Wednesday, pushing them over .500 for the first time this season.
