Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The 2015 MLB postseason is less than two weeks away, with several stellar matchups awaiting in October. While there will be some repeat teams in this year's playoffs, there is intrigue in the new teams poised to crash the postseason party.

The Toronto Blue Jays own the best run differential in baseball and have been a force in the American League since acquiring Troy Tulowitzki, David Price and others in July. Now they're poised for their first playoff appearance since winning back-to-back World Series in 1992 and 1993.

The Kansas City Royals won the AL pennant as a Wild Card team in 2014, but this year they're back in October as AL Central champions, for their first division title since 1985. But KC could be surrounded by four other AL playoff teams that didn't make the postseason in 2014, depending on how the final week shakes out.

In the National League, the Chicago Cubs will be in the postseason for the first time since 2008, and Yoenis Cespedes and the pitching-rich New York Mets are on the precipice of New York's first division title since 2006. They will join the St. Louis Cardinals, seeking their fifth consecutive trip to the National League Championship Series.
