Listen, we know it’s tough to catch up on everything happening in the baseball world each morning. There are all kinds of stories, rumors, game coverage and Vines of dudes getting hit in the beans every day. Trying to find all of it while on your way to work or sitting at your desk just isn’t easy. It’s OK, though. We’re going to do the heavy lifting for you each morning and find the things you need to see from within the SB Nation baseball network, as well as from elsewhere. Please hold your applause until the end, or at least until after you subscribe to the newsletter.

Until yesterday, there was still baseball happening somewhere, and that baseball was the Arizona Fall League. The AFL had its championship game on Saturday between the Mesa Solar Sox and the Surprise Saguaros. (Awesome team names.) With those two teams playing, prospects from 10 major league teams were showing their stuff. The Solar Sox have players from the Cubs, Indians, Marlins, Athletics, and Blue Jays. The Saguaros have players from the Red Sox, Royals, Twins, Pirates, and Rangers.

The Solar Sox won the game 6-1, and it was the Cubs’ No. 1 prospect, Ian Happ, who impressed the most. He was No. 21 on the MLB Pipeline prospect list, and he showed why with home runs from both sides of the plate. It was the first time he’d ever done that, and he said it was “awesome.” He wasn’t the only guy to make a difference for the Solar Sox, though. Marlins No. 4 prospect Brian Anderson hit a three-run homer in the first inning to start things off right, and those hitters backed up a strong performance on the mound from Athletics pitcher Dylan Covey.

There’s one prospect who didn’t appear in this game, and that’s Tim Tebow, who played on the Scottsdale Scorpions. And calling him a prospect might be an insult to all prospects everywhere. He’s done really, really badly in the AFL. Over 19 games and 62 at-bats, he hit .194/.296/.242 with 12 hits, three doubles, six runs scored, eight walks, and 20 strikeouts. He wasn’t the worst in the AFL, but he was pretty close.

Scouts had nothing nice to say about him. “Awful.” “Stinks.” “Ugly.“ Yikes. Don’t hold back, guys. So what’s next for America’s favorite failed quarterback? He’s staying in Arizona to work with the Mets hitting coach, and New York’s general manager Sandy Alderson doesn’t know if Tebow will get an invitation to major league spring training. So no matter what, this isn’t the last time we’ll hear about Tim Tebow playing baseball. Try to contain your excitement.
