The New York Yankees have added some veteran pop to their lineup, agreeing to terms with veteran outfielder Matt Holliday on a one-year, $13 million, per Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.

The deal was first reported as close by Sweeny Murti of WFAN in New York.

Holliday, who turns 37 in January, hit .246/.322/.461 with 20 home runs in 110 games in 2016 with the Cardinals. It was the final season of a seven-year deal with St. Louis. His 107 OPS+ was his lowest since 2005, and the only time during that span his OPS+ was below 120.

Injuries have limited Holliday to just 183 total games the last two seasons. He was sidelined by a right quad strain in 2015 and a broken thumb in 2016.

The Cardinals declined their 2017 option in Holliday in November.

The Yankees were believed to be in on Carlos Beltran, who signed with the Astros earlier in the weekend.
