The free agent market didn’t pan out perhaps as he wanted, but 2016 major league home run leader Mark Trumbo has finally found a home. It’s the same as his previous home, remaining with the Baltimore Orioles on a reported three-year, $37.5 million contract, per Jon Heyman of FanRag ports.
Mark Trumbo returns to Orioles with reported 3-year contract
Right-handed slugger has averaged 30 home runs per season in his 6-year career.

Trumbo led baseball with 47 home runs last year with the Orioles, hitting .256/.316/.533 with 27 doubles, 51 walks, 94 runs scored and 108 RBI, helping Baltimore to a Wild Card Game berth.
The right-handed slugger made $9.15 million in 2016 in his final year of salary arbitration before qualifying for free agency.
Trumbo declined a qualifying offer from the Orioles in November worth $17.2 million for one year.
In his career, Trumbo is a .251/.303/.473 hitter with 178 home runs and 517 RBI in 849 games, just over six major league seasons with the Angels, Diamondbacks, Mariners, and Orioles. Trumbo’s 178 home runs from 2011-2016 rank ninth in the majors.
As far as defense goes, well, Trumbo can really hit a lot of home runs. He has mostly split time between the outfield corners and first base. In 2016 in the American League, he started 59 games as the designated hitter in addition to his 95 starts in right field, four starts at first base and one start in left field.
