The last time the Houston Astros were in a League Championship Series, they also reached the World Series. This year, they are favored to do so again.

The oddsmakers at Bovada have the Astros as the favorites to beat the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series, which begins on Friday night with Game 1 at Minute Maid Park in Houston (8 p.m., FS1).

Bovada has the Astros as -180 favorites to beat the Yankees in the ALCS, meaning someone would have to wager $180 to win $100. New York is at +150 to win the series, meaning a successful $100 bet would win $150.

Houston won 101 games during the regular season to capture the American League West. This is their first trip to the LCS since 2005, when they won the National League Championship Series en route to the only World Series trip in franchise history.

New York has already knocked off one giant this postseason, coming back from two games down to eliminate the 102-win Cleveland Indians in five games in the ALDS. Before that series, Bovada gave the Yankees even longer odds at +160, with the Indians -200 favorites.
