Archie Bradley, Oh Great Bearded One, is a relief pitcher for the Diamondbacks. He was a career .098 hitter before the NL Wild Card Game began.
Archie Bradley is the first reliever in history to hit a triple in the postseason, and he was safe by a whisker
Really, he did that.

Then, in the bottom of the seventh inning, he hit a triple. As in three bases off one hit. Even better, he absolutely rocketed around the bases (beard blowing in the wind) and was safe by just a hair. Maybe two hairs. Maybe the width of a tabby cat’s soft, striped ear.
He was safe, though. Which makes him only the sixth pitcher (and first relief pitcher) to hit a triple in the postseason, joining Dontrelle Willis, Tom Glavine, Cy Young, Dutch Ruether, and Babe Ruth. What a crew!
He was SO DAMN HAPPY once he was safe and standing on base. Just some pure uncut baseball happiness.
Unfortunately, all of that hard work by Bradley was unraveled a half inning later thanks to back-to-back Rockies home runs hit off of ... oh no. Really? Bradley was actually pitching? Well, that’s ... not the best news.
At least he got a few fleeting moments of baseball happiness before everything went to hell with him on the mound. He got out of the inning after letting both Trevor Story and Nolan Arenado jack shots, but the Diamondbacks 8-7 lead was still intact.
So he shouldn’t let it overshadow his triple heroics too much, because that was genuinely awesome.
