In case you forgot, the Astros’ lineup is scary. All of them, from top to bottom. You can’t count out any of their players because if you let your guard down for a second one of them will jump at the opportunity to make you pay for that lapse.
Jose Altuve and Marwin Gonzalez are reminding everyone of Houston’s offensive depth in the ALDS
At Boston’s expense, but everybody’s probably okay about that.

Marwin Gonzalez reminded everybody of that in the bottom of the fourth inning with a 2-out, 2-on double that put the Astros up 4-2 on the Red Sox. Then Jose Altuve made sure the message stuck with a one-run homer in the bottom of the following inning — his second home run of the game.
Gonzalez’s heroics weren’t as expected as Altuve’s, seeing as he’s not as well known a name as his teammate. But that’s the point. Don’t count out anybody on their roster.
Because they’ll do something like this...
Or this...
or again, something like this...
And all of a sudden you realize that you spent so long trying to crack Justin Verlander’s pitching that you forgot to bar the castle gates against the Astros’ lineup and you’re down 5-2 and wait a second what the hell just happened?
That’s where the Red Sox find themselves at the moment, and if they don’t get out of this series it’s an important lesson for everybody else to remember moving forward.
