Welcome to the Major League Baseball offseason. Now that the World Series is over, the hot stove season officially began with free agency. As of 9 a.m. ET on Thursday, 149 players became free agents per the collective bargaining agreement between owners and players.

Among the players who are now on the open market are pitchers Jake Arrieta, Wade Davis, and Yu Darvish, and sluggers J.D. Martinez, Mike Moustakas, and Eric Hosmer, plus many others.

The Washington Nationals have the most free agents with 11, with the Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Angels not far behind with nine each. The Oakland Athletics are the only team without a free agent.

Though free agency technically started on Thursday, there is a quiet period in MLB of five days, during which time no player can sign with a new team. Players and teams can discuss contract terms during this time, but nobody can officially join a new team until after 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
