Florida had to beat TCU twice to advance to the final week of the College World Series, while LSU had to topple juggernaut Oregon State twice to earn the privilege as well. This is the second year in a row that all 14 bracket-round games were required to decide who would advance to the finals.
College World Series 2017, LSU vs. Florida: Time, TV schedule and livestream
The SEC’s best faceoff for College World Series hardware.

The final best-of-three series of the CWS kicks off on Monday, and there’s no clear favorite to win. LSU has lights-out pitching. Florida has lights-out pitching. Omaha’s TD Ameritrade Park is a pitcher’s spot, notwithstanding this year’s CWS generating the most home runs in park history. That perhaps grants advantage to the Tigers, who’ve been slamming balls all over the place this past week, while Florida’s bats have fallen dead asleep in recent outings.
If there’s going to be scoring, it’ll come in bursts, and each team will have to find ways to cover. LSU probably holds the scoring edge, though the Gators can bust through in pockets themselves. This is a veritable anvil of a series between big time heavyweights, and it promises outright fantastic baseball.
