LSU and Florida have a long way to go in the College World Series final series, and already weirdness has crept into a best-of-three tilt that will most certainly feature lights-out pitching and few runs.
LSU shortstop continues to commit heinous blunders on routine ground balls
Kramer Robertson didn’t bring his brain to Omaha.

In the top of the third inning and with two outs, Florida centerfielder Ryan Larson stepped up and dealt a routine grounder into the second-third base gap, the general territory that Tiger shortstop Kramer Robertson is tasked with covering. Robertson fielded the ball cleanly enough. Getting the thing out of his glove, however, that didn’t go so well.
This has happened to Robertson before. Just last week, he had trouble transferring the ball from glove to hand against Oregon State, in an inning that saw virtually all of LSU’s players completely lose their minds. (If you’re wondering, yes, that’s definitely the same Kramer Robertson. He bleached his hair during the bracket round of the College World Series.)
One shouldn’t fault Robertson too much here, though. He completed a gun-out catch in the top of the first on a close, bang-bang play at second, then did the same to end Florida’s batting in the third. Robertson will be fine.
