Yoan Moncada and Willy Garcia collided in a brutal outfield play
Both players are day-to-day with contusions.

Yoan Moncada and Willy Garcia of the White Sox collided in what looked like a brutal outfield play during Monday night’s game against the Blue Jays. In the immediate aftermath, trainers attended to both players.
Garcia got up of his own accord after some time, but according to CSN’s Dan Hayes, a cart was brought out for Moncada, who wasn’t putting weight on his knee. Both players have now left the game.
You can see the collision in the video above, which is clearly an accident but tough to watch regardless.
Fans are especially concerned for Moncada, as he is the team’s star youngster who was only called up in recent weeks and is the top-ranked prospect in baseball.
Some additional photos of the play betray the roughness of the impact.
Fortunately, the team’s future seems to be okay as the White Sox announced Moncada is day-to-day with a knee contusion but that his x-rays were negative.
Garcia, however, will be reevaluated in the morning and is currently diagnosed as having a head contusion.
Even though neither player walked away unscathed, this collision could have definitely been much worse for both guys, and both the team and fans should be breathing a sigh of relief that the damage was minimized here.
