Byron Buxton followed a stand-up triple with an inside-the-park home run

This just in: he’s fast.

Byron Buxton may be, just may be, could be fast.

During Friday night’s Twins game against the Diamondbacks, Buxton notched a stand-up double and a stand-up triple. Even more impressive is, in the at-bat after the triple he also hit an inside-the-park home run.

Even more impressive than all of that, he broke his own speed record from 2015 from home to home, rounding the bases in only 13.85 seconds.

So yeah, he’s a pretty fast guy.

Even when you know things like this, as in of course most people have noticed by this point that Buxton has some speed, it’s nice to be reminded of how amazing it is when he really puts the jets on. Just in case you need a display of athleticism that seems impossible except for when you actually watch it.

Buxton also came within one requirement of a cycle, but unlike most players who fall short, he only needed a single in his last at-bat to complete it.

Unfortunately, he lined out during his last plate appearance, so he was left without a cycle but with a collection of very impressive at-bats and a chance to remind everybody just how quick he is.
