He can’t be stopped. It’s official: Giancarlo Stanton simply can’t be kept from hitting that baseball over the wall very far on the opposite side of the field.
Giancarlo Stanton homers — again — and ties the all-time record for August home runs
Another day, another dinger.

It’s like Stanton is secretly a robot who has to hit home runs to continue to play baseball or he’ll break down.
With his latest home run on Tuesday night, his 51st this year, Stanton tied Rudy York’s 80-year-old record for most home runs in the month of August, accomplished by York in 1937.
The only major record he has left to break during the last few games of August is Sammy Sosa’s all-time home runs in a month record of 20.
This home run from Stanton was also his 27th to travel 110 miles per hour or faster, a stat in which he leads the league. In fact, there are only three other players who have even reached double digits in that category.
He also still has a shot at slugging higher than 1.000 on the month, which would be the first time that’s ever been done in August. That’s not as exciting a stat as “Giancarlo has hit a dump truck of dingers,” though, so it’s also fine if everyone just keeps focusing on his awesome home runs.
