It’s the first of September, which means baseball rosters are expanding, which means it’s time for September call ups across the league.

The playoffs are coming, so teams are shifting players around to accommodate for injuries or slumping stars, figuring out who could help the most come October, and giving young rookies a shot.
One example of an exciting call up on the West Coast is the Dodgers calling up top outfield prospect Alex Verdugo up but leaving Joc Pederson (who played in last year’s NLCS) down in Triple-A for the rest of that season before bringing him up.
But on Twitter, it’s a different story.
We asked you who, out of any player, you would want to add to your favorite baseball team if you could for September.
Some of you went right for the best player on any team right now, like a smart general manager.
Some of you went with a smart pick that is probably on the top of your mind because of a recent big trade...
...and others decided that they would be more strategic based on a player’s performance this season or specifically what your team needs to have a shot at the postseason.
But some of you — and we can’t really blame you — decided to pick the adorable pooch that was feature in the gif we sent out with the tweet.
