The Indians rallied on Thursday night for an extra-innings win and an extension of their streak, but couldn’t do it two nights in a row and fell 4-3 to Kansas City on Friday.
Royals end Indians win streak at 22 games
Somebody finally beat Cleveland.

They started off with a 1-0 lead, and if you’ve been paying attention to the streak at all you know once they have leads they’ve been stingy with letting them go, but in this game the Royals came back the next inning and tied it up.
Cleveland put two more runs on the board in the fourth inning to go up 3-1, but after that Kansas City took control for good and held on for the win. They threatened in the bottom of the ninth by putting a man on first, and Francisco Lindor once again came to the plate with two men on and two outs, but there would be no last-minute miracle rally to keep things going this time.
The Indians win streak has been snapped at 22 straight games.
It was quite the ride, one that nobody really expected, but a great surprise for the city of Cleveland and the fan base. The Indians are headed to the postseason, and after this win streak and with Andrew Miller back they have to like their chances to win the World Series this year instead of another season as runners up.
After the game, the crowd that had supported the time through every win gave them one more standing ovation, which was very cool to watch.
Their next goal will be to clinch the division, and to make sure everybody stays healthy for the playoffs so that the fans can provide just as electric an atmosphere as they did during this streak.
Francisco Lindor better save some of those heroics for October!
