A dinosaur threw out the first pitch for the Diamondbacks

Good things there’s no pop culture examples of manufacturing dinosaurs and everything going wrong.

In lieu of a special guest, or any sort of human being actually, the Diamondbacks had a dinosaur throw out the first pitch.

While many were paying attention to the Diamondbacks’ game to see whether they would lose and guarantee the Dodgers the division no matter what happened in Los Angeles’ game, Arizona decided to give people something to talk about by putting a little jurassic in their park.

The dinosaur’s presence was part of STEM night, which is part of the Diamondbacks’ Science of Baseball program and featured “STEM projects and displays throughout the ballpark.” Hopefully none of those projects involved altering the genetic design of dangerous animals in order for them to learn how to play sports.

God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs. Dinosaurs play baseball?

Hopefully any scientific trickery ends before we get to that point. As long as they remain semi-adorable robots who have the ability to throw out a pitch, that’s entirely acceptable.

If more of these machines get built, maybe the Astros could even consider signing them to the bullpen for a playoff run.
