Jackie Bradley Jr. only had three hits in the American League Championship Series, but they were all huge. It was enough for the Boston Red Sox outfielder to be named ALCS MVP after Boston’s pennant-clinching win over the Houston Astros on Thursday night at Minute Maid Park.

Bradley hit a three-run double to give the Red Sox a lead in Game 2, walloped a grand slam to put Game 3 away late, and turned a deficit into an advantage with a two-run home run in Game 4. Bradley was 3-for-15 in the series, but drove in nine runs, a total surpassed in Red Sox franchise history in an ALCS only by David Ortiz (11 RBI in 2004) and Manny Ramirez (10 RBI in 2007).

“The approach is just try to do everything you possibly can to help the team out,” Bradley said on the TBS broadcast. “I happened to come up in some big opportunies, big moments, and I was able to cash in on those moments.”

The World Series begins on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Fenway Park, with the Red Sox facing either the Dodgers or Brewers.
