Erik Kratz has been one of the most pleasant surprises of the postseason for the Brewers. Picked up as a backup catcher in May, the journeyman broke out offensively in the Division Series against the Rockies and has been contributing in the NLCS as well. He was hitting .316 with six hits in seven games this postseason heading into Game 6.
Erik Kratz’s college friends showed up to Game 6 wearing his former teams’ jerseys
Three of them chose to wear Pirates jerseys. Which, okay.

Hoping that he’d help the Brewers extend their season at least another game, Kratz’s college friends from Eastern Mennonite University traveled to Game 6 to cheer him on. And they did it in style, wearing an assortment of jerseys from his former teams with his name on the back.
Kratz has played for the Pirates, Phillies, Royals, Blue Jays, Yankees, Padres, Astros, and Brewers and the “Kratz Krew” covered a chunk of them on Friday night.
The Yankees, Royals, and Astros didn’t get any representation but three guys wore different Pirates jerseys. He never played pro ball with the Indians but Cleveland signed Kratz to a minor league contract back in 2016 before he made his way to the Yankees so props to the guy wearing that jersey for attention to detail.
Kratz is going to remember this postseason for a long time, one would think. No matter how it ends. Having his college friends there is one more special part of an unlikely October run with the Brewers. Now, can his friends give us advice on how to organize something like this and have people show up? I can’t even get game night together properly.
