Hey! It’s October! There’s postseason baseball on! That means there are going to be happy fans and sad fans. There are also going to be pissed fans, like those who realized they couldn’t watch the Yankees-A’s AL Wild Card Game on the TBS app and immediately made their complaints known on Twitter.
It’s October, so baseball fans are pissed about MLB’s blackout restrictions again
A tradition unlike any other.

It happens every year, and every year new fans realize that MLB’s blackout rules are making it difficult to watch their team in the postseason via an app rather than local television.
Some people are apparently blacked out from watching on the app no matter where they live in the US, within a team’s broadcast limits or not. It’s working for my Boston-area location ID, for example, but there are a lot of complaints to the contrary so it doesn’t seem to discriminate logically.
Unfortunately, there’s really no (legal) way around this unless you have a local cable login that can stream the game through the local affiliate. Or you can figure out an, ahem, alternative method for a game stream.
In the meantime, everyone spare a thought for the people running the MLB and TBS social media accounts.
