I would like Carlos Correa to pull me around while I sit on a stack of weights

Is that too much to ask?

While the rest of us are closely watching the free-agency market in the hopes that something, anything, will happen soon (besides the union and the league sniping at each other), there are athletes getting ready for a season which is less than two months away.

Many players are free agents still looking for a deal — far more than usual — but they’re a small group when compared to the players who have deals and are looking ahead to Opening Day at the end of March. Two of those players are Carlos Correa and Jose Altuve, who are hoping for a repeat World Series for the Astros in 2018.

They’re working hard to get in tip-top playing shape, and they posted an Instagram on Thursday that proves they can find some fun in breaking a sweat:

This is where I confess the first thing I thought when I watched this short video: I would like Correa to also pull me around on a stack of weights.

It would be the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. I could chill out and read a book or check Instagram or work on my posture (which I could definitely do more often, sorry mom) while he gets his daily workout done.

I’m imagining it now, and just thinking about it has a relaxing effect in the same way that someone mindlessly braiding your hair or your parents pulling you around in a little red wagon would. This offseason has offered little joy. But imagining Correa hauling me around and putting me into a relaxing fugue state is not dissimilar to when you’re about to fall asleep in a car’s passenger seat but hold off because the song on the radio is putting a smile on your face.

This is getting way too specific, and I should probably stop now. Or just go get a massage and relax like a normal person. At least Correa and Altuve — excuse me, Batman and Robin — are having sufficiently goofy offseason workout sessions. Keep it up, I say.
