The Red Sox were protecting a 1-0 lead over the Marlins in the second inning and Miami was trying to get their bats going against Chris Sale. Which is a pretty hard thing to do on a good day, and they almost got something going when Justin Bour came to the plate and drove the ball towards center field.
The only thing better than Jackie Bradley Jr.’s catch is Chris Sale’s reaction
What a play!

I say almost because Jackie Bradley, Jr. decided that this was not Bour’s moment to get a hit. And he prevented it from happening in remarkable fashion.
This might be the frontrunner for catch of the season so far, non-Ichrio category. Between the ground he covers just to reach the ball and the awesome full layout to make the catch, it’s definitely one of the most re-watchable plays this year.
The only thing better than the actual catch? Chris Sale’s reaction to the snag.
Despite Sale’s face, Bradley wasn’t hurt on the play. Maybe just a little bruised. But Sale knows Bradley saved him on that one.
Bour got his revenge later though, when he hit another one to center field that no one could reach to tie things up for the Marlins.
