Baltimore bar trying to make patrons feel better about Chris Davis’ historically bad season with free shots

Orioles fans absolutely need help feeling better about this situation, and Bartenders Pub is here to help.

Chris Davis is having a historically bad season for the Orioles. He’s currently hitting .150/.227/.227 with a OPS .454 and an OPS+ of 28. Twenty eight. My god. Davis’ batting line might be eligible for FEMA relief funds at this point.

The good news is this is his last season with the Orioles! Wait, I’m hearing that that is not the case. He actually has four years left on this deal and is owed $23 million per year and — ohmygod Baltimore what have you done? There’s blood everywhere and the police are on their way!

Things are dire in Baltimore. There is a silver lining though! And that silver lining comes in the form of FREE SHOTS. We’re not endorsing drinking away your baseball team-related problems, but if that’s something you were interested in doing a Baltimore bar is offering a free Dr. Pepper shooter for every hit Davis gets this season.

Bartenders Pub posted on their Facebook page,

Chris Davis is on pace to have the worst season ever played by any professional baseball player. Join us for the Os games at Bartenders and every time Chris Davis gets a hit, we’ll be giving out free Dr. Pepper shooters. (Must be present when he gets the hit and any other legalese that might apply)

So you have to be at a bar while Davis gets a hit. Through 57 games he only has 31 hits. He has struck out 86 times. That’s atrocious. So the chances of actually getting a shot aren’t great. But at least you’ll be in a bar with other depressed Orioles fans.

And if Davis does hit the ball and reach base you get to celebrate a small win in his battle against being historically bad while also drinking free alcohol. Things couldn’t be much worse in Baltimore right now, but this keeps the fanbase away from rock bottom status — just barely.
