The Vancouver Whitecaps entered Wednesday without a win in their last seven matches, but luckily for them, they were playing Chivas USA. The Goats are the ultimate medicine for a sick team and that is just what they were at BC Place, where the Caps crushed them 4-0 to strengthen Vancouver's playoff bid.
Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Chivas USA, 2012 MLS: Final score 4-0, Caps crush lowly Chivas
The Whitecaps did what so many teams have done this year -- crushed Chivas USA.

The win pushes Vancouver to 42 points, five clear of Dallas for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. FCD does have a match in hand, though, two of which are against Chivas.
Four different players scored for the Whitecaps, starting with Gershon Koffie in the 11th minute. Kenny Miller fed Koffie, whose shot left Dan Kennedy no chance.
The 1-0 scoreline held until the 35th minute when Dane Richards found the net. He played a one-two with Camilo Sanvezzo to get free before hitting a shot inside the far post for a two-goal lead.
Camilo then added a goal of his own in the 62nd minute. A cross was deflected right to Camilo, whose finished to put the match well out of reach.
Barry Robson then made Chivas' already awful night worse in the 73rd minute. Camilo nutmegged John Valencia to get free before crossing for Robson, whose volleyed finish capped an easy night for Vancouver.
